Undertaking an apprenticeship is a great way to get into concreting as it allows you to work as you study. This means you will gain the training and qualifications needed whilst making an income - and be fully qualified in only two years!

This industry is predicted to have steady growth in demand over the next five years and a fully qualified concreter can potentially earn above the average annual wage.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS        

Mecon Construction provides clients with a full suite of design and building services and works closely with commercial property management companies ensuring changes and maintenance schedules are carried out to the highest standards.

They are currently seeking a concreting apprentice for their Apprenticeship Program. They are searching for people who are keen to join the concrete industry. The ideal applicant is a safety conscious individual who has a strong interest in the industry.

Mature aged candidates are encouraged to apply.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • All aspects of the concrete laying process (including digging, raking and trowelling) - starting with simpler tasks and working your way up
  • Abiding by workplace health and safety regulations on site
  • Working towards completion of the requirements of the trade qualification

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be punctual, reliable, and hard working
  • Display a willingness to learn and take direction
  • Be physically fit due to the amount of manual handling involved in the role
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Possess an enthusiastic attitude towards their work
  • Have current Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
