ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: 

AKT Engineering is looking for a motivated Apprentice Boilermaker/Welder to take the first step in a rewarding career. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with experienced professionals, develop essential trade skills, and contribute to high-quality engineering projects.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly.
  • Assist experienced boilermakers and welders in manufacturing and assembling key engineering components.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precision and quality.
  • Participate in quality control processes, inspecting and evaluating welds and materials.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and engage in ongoing safety training to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support the upkeep and maintenance of welding equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with material handling and inventory management in the workshop.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A strong interest in building a career as a Boilermaker/Welder.
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on role.
  • Physical fitness to handle moderate lifting and work in varying environments
