Skytrans is an Australian based passenger airline & a member of the world’s largest ACMI provider (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) , Avia Solutions Group. We have been serving the Cape and the Torres Strait region for over thirty years and have extensive experience providing air services to remote and communities throughout Queensland. Founded in 1990, the airline has over 200 staff, with head office in Cairns and bases in Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton and Horn Island. Skytrans currently operates a fleet of 13 regional aircraft including 7 Dash-8 aircraft, specialising in Regular Public Transport (RPT), charter services, and ACMI operations across the Asia-Pacific region, Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait.

Skytrans is excited to announce a new route between Sydney and Lord Howe Island. As part of this expansion, we will be seeking additional AME to staff our newly opened base in Sydney. Skytrans will acquire three additional Q200 aircraft, bringing our total fleet to 16.

We are also opening this position to fourth-year apprentices who wish to complete their training and transition into an AME role upon certification.

You will be responsible for:

Whilst working under the supervision of the Engineering Manager and as part of the team of 4x B1 and B2 LAME, this role will typically see you:

• Ensuring maintenance of the Skytrans aircraft is completed and certified in accordance with regulatory, manufacturers and Part 145 MOE requirements

• Ensuring the ongoing serviceability and presentation of company aircraft on a daily basis, carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

• Researching requirements for upcoming maintenance to ensure availability of parts

• Testing of equipment and tooling

• Rectifications of defects away from base

• Contributing to the safety and quality managements system

• Undertaking corrective rectification of aircraft systems

• Completing scheduled aircraft maintenance

• Completing primary line maintenance activities

• May involve travel to other bases if required

Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their application:

• Successfully completed Certificate IV or Diploma in Aeroskills (ideally Mechanical or Avionics) or apprentice in their fourth year

• Experience on Dash 8 100 / 200 and 300 desirable.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of maintenance procedures

• Full Manual Driver’s License

• Ability to work effectively as part of a professionally diverse team, but also have the ability to work unsupervised

• High level of attention to detail

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to successfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
