Location: Moorabbin Airport, in Melbourne’s South-East

Full Time, Permanent

 

Microflite is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Aircraft Spray Painter / Finisher to join our growing team. Working within a high quality aviation environment, you will be responsible for preparing, painting, finishing, and refinishing aircraft components and related materials to exacting industry standards.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced spray painter with strong finishing and surface preparation capabilities who takes pride in producing high quality workmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsibilities will include:

 

  • Preparing aircraft parts and components for painting and finishing processes
  • Applyiny primers, topcoats, and specialist finishes to aerospace components
  • Performing sanding, masking, filling, surface preparation, and polishing activities
  • Conducting body filler application and blocking work to a high standard
  • Inspecting and adjusting spray application techniques including flow, angle, speed, and finish quality
  • Operating and monitoring spray booths, ovens, and paint mixing equipment
  • Following technical drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications
  • Conducting finishing and refinishing work to achieve premium presentation standards
  • Maintaining housekeeping and complying with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment

What You’ll Bring:

 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

 

  • Trade qualification in Spray Painting or a nationally recognised Paint Qualification
  • Previous experience in aircraft, automotive, marine, or industrial spray painting and finishing
  • Strong finishing experience, including refinishing, polishing, detailing, and final presentation work
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices and safe chemical handling procedures
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and technical documentation
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment (highly regarded)
  • Aproactive attitude with willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a team
