About Us

McDermott Aviation is Australia’s largest privately owned Heli-Aviation company, operating from bases across Australian, Europe and the USA and home to the world’s largest fleet of the most powerful, single engine, twin bladed helicopter – the Bell 214B. We provide Aerial Fire Fighting, Emergency Assistance, Charter and Helicopter lifting services and support.

The Role

Working as part of the high performing paint shop team, you will play a key role in supporting our growing fleet and ensuring our operational capability.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of metallic & composite surfaces prior to coating.

• Subassembly of parts and some components prior to coating.

• Mix and apply (primer and paint) to aircraft surfaces, according to specifications.

• Document and maintain accurate records of all work completed.

• Maintain paint shop equipment and materials, ordering consumables when required.

• Ensure all work is compliant with prescribed specifications, of the highest quality and meets safety standards.

About You:

• Cert III Aircraft Surface Refinishing (preferred), Cert III in Automotive Refinishing or equivalent trade experience

• A Quality Approach to work and the ability to meet exacting standards.

• The ability to communicate proficiently and professionally.

• Be motivated to perform in a disciplined and busy aviation environment.

• Be industrious, proactive, and inspired to be part of a growing operation.
