Are you a current Fitter & Turner Apprentice looking to further develop your skills and take the next step in your career? Our long-term host business is looking for a 2nd/3rd year (Engineering - Mechanical Trade Fitting/Machining) apprentice that is looking to gain new experience & complete their apprenticeship to be trade qualified.

The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and passion for the industry. You will perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, overhaul and modify components, use various tools for tasks, document work, and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams for smooth operations.

The Apprenticeship will involve:    

• Set up machinery to enable the manufacture of engineering products
• Repair and replace components parts and other items 
• Install plant and machinery 
• Design modifications to existing components 
• Maintenance of plant and equipment                                        

Requirements:

• Must have strong knowledge of the trade
• Being an existing Engineering Apprentice is preferred
• Understand the importance of workplace health and safety
• Have good communication skill
• Enjoy practical work
• Have good hand-eye coordination
• Construction White Card, or willing to obtain
• Driver's licence required

Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout Queensland. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
