1st Year Boilermaker or Fitter Apprenticeship

The Company:

MCA Engineering Group is a leading Engineering and Project Delivery company specialising in surface and underground mining projects. Australian owned and operated, MCA offers a wide range of services including concept design studies, detailed design and engineering through to fabrication and construction to the mining and construction industries.

The Role:

We are currently seeking committed and willing candidates to commence a full time Boilermaker or Fitter Apprenticeship based in our Mt Isa, QLD Branch. Working onsite you will gain the skills, knowledge and on-the-job experience to successfully complete your trade qualification.

On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to follow directions and complete tasks set out by tradesmen so your ability to successfully listen and take direction is critical. In addition, where appropriate, you’ll be able to spend time at our workshops in Parkes, NSW or Thornton, NSW which will give you invaluable experience and exposure to a variety of working environments.

Requirements:

• Must hold a current drivers licence (manual preferred)
• Must be local to Mt Isa or surrounding areas
• Ability to listen and follow complex instructions
• Genuine interest and commitment to completing your trade certificate
• A work approach that shows a willingness to work to quality standards and meet expectations
• Computer skills and the ability to learn new technologies and tools
• A pre-trade course or work experience would be highly regarded
