This top-notch 18-hole championship course that Stuart Appleby created is currently in its 21st year of operation. We pride ourselves on maintaining impeccable course standards and providing an exceptional golfing experience for our members and visitors.

Position Overview:

We are searching for an energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate 1st year Apprentice Greenkeeper to become a valued member of our dedicated team. If you are looking for a change of lifestyle, a chance to work near the beach, and possess a deep interest in golf course management, then this opportunity is perfect for you. As an Apprentice Greenkeeper, you will play a vital role in the daily maintenance and presentation of the golf course while implementing strategies and plans directed by the Course Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Course Superintendent, your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of golf course maintenance, including:

• Assisting in daily course setup and preparation

• Operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment

• Contributing to course renovations and construction projects

• Engaging in hands-on tasks related to turf management

• Participating in a comprehensive 4-year apprenticeship programme leading to a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management

• Committing to one day a week of theoretical training at TAFE over a span of three years

• Participating in weekend overtime on a rotational basis, typically every 3–4 weeks

Desired Qualifications and Traits:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualities:

• Reliability and punctuality in work

• A positive and proactive attitude

• An inherent interest in turf management and greenkeeping practises

• Possession of a valid Australian driver’s licence

• While not essential, an interest in golf would be a plus
