Our Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mine and is showing no signs of slowing down!

Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett. Subsidised residential or camp accommodation options available.

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters, to join the Workshop Maintenance team at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.

To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and have a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.

Your core accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level
  • Undertake troubleshooting, fault finding, breakdown and preventative maintenance on Heavy Mobile Equipment
  • Achieve performance targets in compliance with statutory, safety, health, budget and environmental requirements
  • Knowledge of SAP and Auto Electrical experience is not essential but highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence
  • Minimum of C Class Manual Drivers Licence
  • Experience with safety management systems
  • Experience within a mining Mobile Maintenance Operations
  • HIAB, EWP, Forklift, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (desirable)
