Wood is recruiting for a Welder Pipefitter to join our Hotworks team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane – on a casual basis with the potential to a full-time basis.

Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for the role.

Location: Lytton Refinery, site based

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication and welding of mechanical apparatus and pipelines
  • Conduct maintenance, repair and modification on existing mechanical machines, pipelines and infrastructure across site
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications according to site requirements and standards
  • Be proactive in looking for ways to improve the reliability of equipment and reduce downtime
  • Able to work closely with site engineers, project team and other trades always ensuring safety.


Qualifications
  • Australian recognised Welding & Fitter Qualification
  • Boilermaker Trade Certificate
  • Driver’s License
  • Exposure to working with Work Area Permit Systems
  • Understand P.ID and isometric Drawings 
  • Working at heights (within 3 years from issue)
  • Confined space (within 3 years from issue)
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).

The successful candidate will undergo medical and background checks, and will be required to provide certificates, tickets before undergoing medical.
