Exceptional TIG welder? Ready to lead from the front?

We're looking for a seriously skilled Lead Welder who takes pride in precision, knows their way around complex industrial fabrication and has the experience to lead a team.

This isn't your average welding job.

You'll be working on industrial refrigeration systems, pressure piping and large-scale engineering projects, combining hands-on specialist welding with the opportunity to take charge of workshop and site fabrication activities.

Our client is an established, growing engineering business in Brisbane delivering specialist industrial refrigeration and pressure piping solutions.

You'll be the person who helps bring complex fabrication projects together, from planning through to installation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating a team of welders across workshop and site projects

• Performing high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel, particularly pressure piping

• Planning fabrication activities and coordinating work to meet project requirements

• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, engineering drawings and 3D CAD models

• Overseeing pressure piping fabrication and industrial plant installations

• Maintaining exceptional welding quality, safety and compliance standards

• Mentoring other welders and sharing your technical expertise

We're looking for someone with genuine specialist experience, not simply someone who can lay a good weld

You'll need:

• A recognised trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication or Metal Engineering

• Extensive hands-on TIG welding experience, particularly stainless steel piping

• Strong experience in pressure piping and industrial fabrication

• Valid pressure welding certifications/tickets

• Confidence reading P&IDs, fabrication drawings and 3D CAD models

• Experience supervising, leading or coordinating other welders

• A meticulous approach to weld quality, accuracy and safety

You'll really stand out if you have:

• Experience with ammonia, CO₂ or glycol industrial refrigeration systems

• Experience fabricating skids, modular plant or complex piping assemblies

• Confined Space, Working at Heights or EWP tickets

• $80,000–$100,000 salary, depending on experience

• Superannuation

• 482 visa sponsorship available for suitably qualified international candidates
