We have a waterproofing apprenticeships available in the Beenleigh area and the surrounding suburbs of Shalier Park & Rochedale  for immediate start.

WHO ARE HIA APPRENTICES?

HIA Apprentices are leaders in the selection, management and training of apprentices in the domestic building industry. Established over 30 years ago, we make it easier for young people to get a trade, and help builders and contractors take them on.

During your on-the-job training, tasks you’ll carry out as an apprentice are:

  • Install waterproofing treatment using equipment in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Assist in waterproofing application and works with a range of waterproofing chemicals and coating product.
  • Read and working from, plans and specifications
  • Carry out the theory and practical assessment tasks in a building site/training centre
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in workplace and trade school environments
  • Communicate and interact with others in workplace and trade school environments, may include customer interaction
  • Follow HIA APPRENTICES induction processes and codes of conduct.

About HIA Apprentices

Please note that we have a huge demand for junior apprentices at the moment (under 21 years of age)

Some tasks will require moderate dexterity and moderate to high physical exertion through varied working positions, e.g. standing, kneeling, bending and overhead positions, working at heights plus digging and handling building products.

Apprentices are expected to be available during required working hours for both work placements and trade school/training centre environments and make their own safe travel arrangements.

Please note that all tasks carried out in conjunction with this position will be done so in accordance with WHS/OHS legislative requirements, codes of practice, job safety analysis and safe working/operating procedures.
