An exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our fun, collaborative, and hardworking Defence Maintenance Contract team based at our regional locations: (1.5-2hrs from Melbourne) Puckapunyal and Bandiana (4-4.5hrs from Melbourne), VIC. This is an opportunity to join Ventia in a role which provides a corridor for a great lifestyle outside of work!

     

About the role   

• As a Vehicle Mechanic you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WD's, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks!  


• Conduct Maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification   


• Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.   


• Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaces parts   


• Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs   


• Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.   


• Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates   

About you   

• Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level (open to Light Vehicle Mechanics)  


• Demonstrated experience on Heavy commercial vehicles  


• Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair  


• Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's Licence  


• You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
