Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth.
This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources.
About the Role
As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Underground Heavy Diesel Fitters to join the team on a full-time basis, working a 7/7 FIFO roster. These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine.
Your role will support underground production within a high-performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?
Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on our underground heavy mining equipment consisting of Sandvik drills, loaders and trucks as well as a range of Normets
Diagnose faults and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
Conduct inspections, servicing, and component change-outs to manufacturer and site standards
Complete pre-start checks and ensure equipment is safe and compliant for operation
Accurately record maintenance activities and report defects or hazards
Work closely with operators and supervisors to minimise machine downtime
Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent)
Previous experience working as a HD Fitter in underground mining
Current and valid Manual Australian Driver’s Licence
Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety standards
Experience operating within production-focused underground environments
Ability to work effectively within a team and follow mine plans and procedures
Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace
