- đ Field-based maintenance role | Shared work vehicle | UG planned maintenance

Are you a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic, Auto Electrician or mechanically minded tradesperson looking for something different? đđĽ
This is a hands-on underground maintenance role supporting Dyno Nobelâs DynoMiner⢠fleet across multiple mining operations. Rather than working on conventional light vehicles, youâll maintain specialised PLC-controlled, hydraulically powered equipment designed specifically for underground explosives delivery. đ ď¸đ§
No DynoMiner experience is required. We're looking for strong mechanical fault-finding skills, initiative and a willingness to learn.
So, what's the role like? Â
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance for our assets. The DynoMiner⢠is specialised underground mining equipment that combines hydraulic, electrical, PLC and mechanical systems.
You will be responsible for planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding, spare parts management and continuous improvement of DynoMiner assets across multiple sites.
The majority of maintenance activities are carried out underground, with approximately 80% of the role involving planned maintenance, servicing, fault finding and breakdown repairs on DynoMiner assets in the underground environment.
Surface-based duties generally include component rebuilds and repairs, completing maintenance documentation and SAP requirements, parts and stores management, crib breaks, and travel between operational sites.
What youâll bringÂ
We are looking for a practical, self-motivated person who is comfortable working independently and takes a proactive rather than reactive approach to maintenance.
Once trained and deemed competent, you will regularly work independently underground. Comprehensive on-the-job training and DynoMiner-specific familiarisation will be provided before you are expected to work independently. Ongoing technical support will also be available when required.
- Mechanical trade qualification or strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with LV Mechanics, Auto Electricians and similar trades encouraged to apply.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including the ability to interpret basic electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision once trained and authorised.
- Proactive approach to maintenance with a focus on preventing equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
- Basic electrical knowledge and hydraulic experience, or a willingness to develop these skills.
- SAP experience in maintenance environments is advantageous, or a willingness to learn.
- Â RIIHAN301E â Operate Elevating Work Platform (EWP), RIIWHS204E â Work Safely at Heights, National Police Clearance and Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Previous underground or mining experience is preferred, along with the ability to obtain required site competencies, clearances and licences.
