We are looking for expressions of interest from dedicated and committed individuals willing to undertake a 4-year Electrical Fitter Apprenticeship – get paid while you learn and develop your career!

  • Monday to Friday work
  • Day shifts only

  • 4 Year Apprenticeship (Mature Age accepted and encouraged) or the opportunity to complete your already started Apprenticeship (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years)

Commencing ASAP, this apprenticeship is a great opportunity for individuals to develop the skills required to become an Electrical Fitter  with Sulzer. Reporting to one of our dedicated Workshops Supervisors and taking instructions from our experienced team members, a typical week in this role could look like this:

 

What will you be doing day to day?

  • Assisting trades in the repair and manufacture of components for rotating equipment 
  • Assembling and disassembling rotating equipment with guidance
  • General machining of components to required tolerances
  • Rewind electric motors and generators under instruction
  • Refurbishment of commutators (machining and undercutting)
  • Manufacture coils for electrical motors and generators
  • Attending all theory sections of the apprenticeship and complete E-Profiling
  • Report to Mentors

What will you bring to Sulzer?

  • A strong desire to attain the required qualifications and experience to complete the apprenticeship via both TAFE and experience gained while at work;
  • Enthusiasm for the electrical industry and a strong desire to learn
  • A willingness to work as part of a team;
  • Completed Year 12 (preferrable not essential)
  • Commitment to safety
