Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Spray Painter to join our team based at our Intermodal Depot.

About the Role:

As a Spray Painter, you will play a key role in maintaining the appearance and integrity of KTrans’ fleet by preparing, refinishing and painting heavy vehicles, trailers and equipment to the highest standard. Working within our workshop team, you’ll ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently and with exceptional attention to detail while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vehicles and equipment by cleaning, sanding, masking and surface preparation.
  • Mix and colour-match paints, primers, lacquers and coatings to manufacturer specifications.
  • Apply primer, base and clear coats using spray painting equipment.
  • Complete polishing, detailing and paint touch-ups to achieve a premium finish.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure all completed work meets KTrans’ high standards.
  • Maintain spray painting equipment, tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Monitor paint and consumable stock levels and advise when replenishment is required.
  • Follow manufacturer recommendations, company procedures and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety, PPE compliance and housekeeping.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanics, workshop staff and operational teams to meet fleet maintenance schedules.

About You:

We are looking for a qualified Spray Painter who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys working in a fast-paced workshop environment. You should have a strong safety focus, excellent attention to detail and are committed to delivering outstanding results every time.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Australian Recognised Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence
  • Current Forklift (High Risk Work) Licence
  • Experience spray painting heavy vehicles, commercial vehicles or industrial equipment
  • Sound understanding of automotive refinishing techniques, paint systems and colour matching
  • HR or HC Truck Licence (desirable)
  • Working at Heights (desirable)
  • Confined Space (desirable)
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence (desirable)

Skills & Abilities:

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong colour matching and paint application skills
  • Experience operating spray guns, sanders, polishers and spray booths
  • Ability to interpret paint specifications and manufacturer instructions
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to support the wider workshop team
  • Commitment to workplace safety and Zero Harm
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
