NEPEAN Longwall are leaders in providing innovative equipment and support services to the underground coal mining industry. We are currently seeking a Service Engineer with a strong mechanical fitter or heavy mechanical background to support our longwall equipment across multiple customer operations.

This is a site-based technical role working underground on longwall equipment, providing hands-on support, diagnostics, and technical advice at customer operations. The role will see you travel between mine sites on a Monday–Thursday roster, working closely with maintenance teams to ensure our equipment is performing at optimal levels.

In addition to technical support, the role includes a customer-facing element, identifying improvement opportunities, discussing product solutions, and assisting sites with equipment upgrades or replacement components.

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance advice on longwall equipment at customer sites
• Conduct inspections, fault finding, and diagnostics on underground mining equipment
• Support commissioning, maintenance, and performance optimisation of NEPEAN longwall products
• Build strong relationships with site maintenance teams and supervisors
• Identify equipment issues, improvement opportunities, and potential product upgrades
• Communicate findings to both the customer and internal teams to support aftermarket sales and product solutions
• Prepare service reports and provide feedback to engineering and operations teams
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with site safety standards and underground mining procedures

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or strong mechanical engineering background
• Experience working with underground coal mining equipment, ideally longwall systems
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
• Ability to work underground and travel between sites
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers
• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify improvement or sales opportunities while providing technical support
• Current underground coal competencies (or ability to obtain)
