Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC

We are partnering with a leading HVAC specialist delivering innovative, energy-efficient solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing team.
The Opportunity This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the design, delivery, and optimisation of HVAC systems across a diverse project portfolio. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including load calculations, equipment sizing, and selection
• Support project delivery through installation, commissioning, and testing phases
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to clients and contractors
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards, codes, and regulations
• Identify and implement energy efficiency and system optimisation opportunities
• Assist with tender submissions, cost estimates, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and system performance issues
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records

About You

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline)
• 3+ years’ experience in HVAC / building services engineering
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles and Australian standards
• Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar
• Experience with load calculations and system modelling
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Project management or site-based experience
• Membership (or eligibility) with Engineers Australia
