About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with TANK experience to support a major fuel terminal maintenance and turnaround program. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across tank inspection, integrity assessment, repair planning, and project execution activities. Working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure aboveground storage tanks remain safe, compliant, and operationally ready while delivering practical engineering solutions and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and review API 653 tank inspections, integrity assessments, corrosion evaluations, and non-destructive testing outcomes.
- Develop tank repair, alteration, and turnaround scopes while providing engineering guidance for recertification and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical repair solutions, design modifications, and detailed engineering documentation.
- Provide subject matter expertise throughout maintenance and turnaround activities, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule objectives are achieved.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives, Management of Change processes, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Significant experience in tank inspection, integrity management, maintenance, or turnaround projects within oil & gas, fuel terminals, petrochemical, or related industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of API 650, API 653, ASME codes, corrosion mechanisms, tank repair methodologies, and Australian WHS requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams while providing clear technical advice and mentoring others.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- API 653, AICIP, API 510, or API 570 certifications.
- Experience in fuel terminals, refineries, or bulk storage facilities.
- Familiarity with risk-based inspection and fitness-for-service assessments.
- Experience with CAD tools
- High Risk Work Licence, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Heights accreditation.
