Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Team based in Campbellfield. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will deliver a high level of technical support, engineering expertise and project management for screen media products across our internal departments and national sales teams.
This is a key role that will drive product innovation, strengthen internal engineering capability, and support significant business projects. Your leadership, problem‑solving ability and capacity to build strong relationships will directly support our people, products and customers.
Duties
- Create high‑quality CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Provide advanced technical, management and engineering support to interstate and local Sales, Tooling and Manufacturing teams
- Manage engineering projects end‑to‑end with autonomy and accountability
- Lead the creation and rollout of standardised engineering drawings
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal engineering procedures
- Support R&D activities, including new product development and emerging market opportunities
- Coach, mentor and guide Graduate and Project Engineers to build team capability
- Ensuring Elastomers Australia policies and procedures are always complied to, including the strictest compliance to OH&S and QA policies both internally and externally
Requirements
- An Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Mechatronic or Manufacturing) or similar
- Experience within the Mining and Mineral Processing Industry (or Similar Industrial/Agricultural Industry) – highly desirable
- Ideally have up to 3 - 5 years of experience in a Project/Mechanical engineer role or similar
- A trade background is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in use of Solid Works (intermediate to advanced skill level) – this is essential
- Experience with Polyurethane and Rubber Materials highly regarded
- Hands on approach is a must - willingness to assist with maintenance work
- Experience working in an SME environment
- The ability to work autonomously whilst having good time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
- The ability solve problems and take initiative
- Ability to travel interstate when required to conduct product inspections and / or perform servicing / maintenance work on the screen media
- Have the desire to grow and develop within the team
