Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of mechanical and structural designs for new and existing products.
  • Ensure compliance with regional and global machine design standards.
  • Manage small to medium engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Foster collaboration between the R&D and engineering teams to enhance product performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal teams and external customers, including field support.
  • Analyse design processes and implement solutions to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure designs meet functional and operational criteria.
  • Foster continuous improvement and adherence to ISO:9001 Quality Management System principles.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams to achieve project goals and professional growth.


Requirements

Qualifications You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent recognised by the Institute of Engineers, Australia).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or structural design engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural and mechanical design calculations using both manual and software-based methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.

 

Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes

  • Proven experience in leading design and development projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Expertise in manufacturing and production processes for cost-effective design optimisation.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to analyse complex problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with research and development techniques for agricultural or industrial machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes within budget and time constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic organisational environment.
  • Passion for sustainability and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel between operational sites and participate in field testing as required.
