The Role

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys diverse tasks, and seeks to challenge their skills. You will be responsible for performing mechanical diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and tyre fitting on various vehicles. High-quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and effective teamwork are essential, making attention to detail and collaboration key. Additionally, you will mentor apprentices as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate workshop resources effectively to ensure job availability.
  • Oversee job progress to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all necessary parts are available before starting a job.
  • Promptly communicate defects and additional repair needs to the service team.
  • Complete repairs and services within designated timeframes.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs to the highest standards.
  • Accurately document all job details on job cards.
  • Identify and recommend additional work that can be completed on the same day.

Essential Skills

  • Automotive Certificate III with 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Extensive diagnostic experience.
  • Proficient in engine and gearbox swaps.
  • Experience with heavy vehicles and machinery.
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence, including manual operation.
  • A/C qualifications (advantageous).
  • QLD Roadworthy Inspector Licence (advantageous).
