About the role

In this role, you will be vital in maintaining marine electrical safety and compliance in accordance with Policy and Governance. You will diagnose and execute maintenance on electrical systems while adhering to SOPs and WHS requirements and keeping your qualifications current. Monitoring maintenance stock levels and liaising with the Planning Manager will be essential for ensuring resource availability. You will contribute to a high-performance culture focused on delivering safe and effective operations, while ensuring the timely completion and closure of all electrical maintenance tasks reported in HELM, leaving vessels fully operational and well-maintained.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose issues promptly and execute regular maintenance on all mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation while adhering to SOPs and WHS requirements.
  • Monitor maintenance stock levels and inform the Planning Manager to ensure resource availability.
  • Adapt to changing conditions while ensuring vessels remain well-maintained and operational following maintenance.

About you

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background, with extensive skills and experience in the field. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach, complemented by a positive, adaptable “can do” attitude, are essential for success in this role.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge in electrical systems and installations, with hands-on experience in risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Exhibit excellent time management and organisational skills, enabling effective prioritisation of tasks, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Have experience in the installation, operation, fault finding, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment, exercising sound judgment in evaluating equipment conditions.
  • Show a commitment to continuous improvement and maintenance planning techniques, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

  • QLD Electrical License (required)
  • Manual Driving License (required)
  • Working at Heights (desirable)
