About the Role:
The Rockhampton Rollingstock Maintenance team currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Fitter. In this role you will be responsible for providing safe, efficient and reliable preventative maintenance, presentation and repair of rollingstock and associated components and equipment. This is a varied role which will see you working on hydraulic systems, diesel engines and pneumatics.

Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:

• Contribute to the safety of the work place, tasks and team members.
• Communicate and build effective relationships with management, staff, unions, suppliers, contractors (or sub-contractors), customers and other stakeholders
• Ensure on time completion of planned and unplanned maintenance activities
• Contribute to the achievement of maintenance plans to meet priorities and targets and assist Maintenance Manager as and when required.
• Utilise computer-based maintenance systems to accurately and timely input and review data, such as recording the work performed including repair and preventative maintenance and all materials used.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

• High level of skill in preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair of locomotives and/or passenger rollingstock, associated systems and their components.
• Substantial skills in working autonomously and within a team environment.
• Sound Mainframe and Personal Computer application skills particularly in Maintenance Management applications. 
• Pre-employment requirement- Mechanical Trade Certificate
