Refrigeration Technician (159986)

The Role
Ventia is excited to announce that we have won a new scope of work! We are seeking to engage a Refrigeration Technician to support our Living Services team working on Ventia’s Square Kilometre Array Project (SKAO) in South Murchinson. Reporting to the Village Manager, this role will see you working on-site performing integrated facilities management. This will consist of preventative and reactive maintenance works on crib rooms, commercial kitchens and associated buildings on a 200 people camp.

This is a full-time permanent role, working 12hours days from 06:00am – 06:00pm on a 2:2 roster. The point-of-hire for this position is either Perth (with flights from Jandakot) or Geraldton, WA to Boolardy Airstrip in South Murchinson.

The salary package for this position is $134,000 per year + Superannuation.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Perform regular maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure they operate efficiently and prevent breakdowns
• Install new refrigeration units, including commercial fridges, freezers, and ice machines
• Repair or replace faulty components, including compressors, evaporators, and thermostats
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or failures of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Address refrigeration-related concerns or requests from camp residents or other stakeholders in a professional and timely manner

Requirements:

• Trade Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• WA Driver’s Licence – Highly regarded
• Physically Fit and energetic
• Open and clear communication within a team environment
