Sodexo, Australia's largest provider of services to the energy and resource sector, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team, delivering on-site refrigeration maintenance services across multiple sites within the greater Pilbara area. As part of Australia’s largest provider of services to the energy and resources sector, you’ll work in a multi-disciplinary environment, supporting the maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems at town/village/non-process infrastructure facilities.

Job Description

In this role, you will ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard, in line with company, contractual, legislative, and safety requirements. The role will require you to travel to various sites, conducting fault finding, inspections, and refrigeration repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

These positions are on 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth roster.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel & Service Delivery: Travel in a company-provided vehicle to deliver refrigeration services across multiple sites in the greater Pilbara area, including non-process infrastructure, villages, and townships.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Assess and repair refrigeration and air-conditioning plant failures as directed, ensuring work is completed within contractual response times.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance and inspection schedule for refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment at each site. Ensure schedules are approved before execution.
  • Inspection & Reporting: Complete inspections, record repairs, and maintain documentation as required by Sodexo Remote Sites management.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is well-maintained, cleaned, and in good working condition to prevent depreciation and ensure safety.
  • Waste Management: Appropriately dispose of waste materials in line with available waste management programs.
  • Safety & Training: Participate in Pre-Start meetings, Toolbox training, and adhere to safety protocols. Report any safety hazards or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Stop any work activity that poses a risk to safety and ensure all equipment and processes comply with statutory requirements.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, and legislative requirements.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

 

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Trade Qualification as a Refrigeration Mechanic.
  • Cert III in Air-conditioning & Refrigeration UEE32211.
  • ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence (for handling CFC refrigerants).
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (highly desirable).
  • Hazardous Works Qualifications such as Work at Heights (W@H), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Confined Space, and Hot Works (highly desirable).
  • Police clearance.
  • C Class manual driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated experience in domestic, residential, industrial, and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning.
  • Proven track record of responding to and satisfying customer requests.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments, including town/village/non-process infrastructure facilities.
