Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead mechanical design to align with project objectives and standards
Ensure compliant, maintainable assets across all environments
Provide technical expertise and review engineering deliverables
Manage RFIs, risks, and engineering documentation
Support tenders, manage consultants, and engage stakeholders
Lead design reviews and ensure actions are closed out
What Makes You a Great Fit
As a technically credible and influential engineering leader you can manage complexity, drive alignment, and ensure high-quality, compliant mechanical outcomes through collaborative, accountable and respectful leadership, in a stakeholder-heavy environment.
You’ll also bring:
Degree in mechanical engineering, and a minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in the delivery of mining and/or industrial projects.
Experienced in the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and materials handling assets.
Strong experience in analysing conveyor systems to evaluate effectiveness.
Experience with the design, operation and maintenance of balanced machines such as stackers and grab unloaders.
Experienced in writing specifications and technical reports.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements and national standards associated with the design, approval and development of mechanical assets.
Highly desirable skills:
Owner's team or owner's engineer experience highly desirable
Chartered Engineer, or eligible for Chartered Engineer registration.
Knowledge of Port operations and mechanical infrastructure.
Experience with mechanical installations within Hazardous Areas
