Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking experienced Plumbers (Shift Work) to support a major, high-traffic aviation precinct in Mascot.

Reporting to the Facilities Management team, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to maintain critical plumbing and hydraulic systems across a 24/7 operational environment. This role is essential to ensuring continuous service delivery, safety, and asset reliability in a highly visible and fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, dependable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to work confidently in shift-based environments and respond effectively to time-critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver preventative and corrective maintenance across plumbing and hydraulic systems 
  • Maintain and repair water, sewer, drainage, and gas infrastructure 
  • Diagnose and resolve faults including leaks, blockages, and pressure issues 
  • Respond to urgent incidents and reactive maintenance within required timeframes 
  • Accurately manage work orders using CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo) 
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, plumbing regulations, and environmental standards 
  • Collaborate with Facilities Managers and other trades to support seamless operations 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives 
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift roster including nights, weekends, and on-call 

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Trade qualification as a licensed Plumber 
  • Current NSW Plumbing Licence 
  • Experience in plumbing maintenance within commercial, industrial, or infrastructure environments 
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability 
  • Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance practices 
  • Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems 
  • Solid understanding of WHS, compliance, and environmental requirements 
  • Ability to work within a shift-based, high-demand environment 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 

Desirable

  • Experience in aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure environments 
  • ASIC clearance (or willingness to obtain)

This role is fully on-site within a major aviation precinct in Mascot, supporting continuous 24/7 operations. 

  • Enjoy a balanced 4 days on, 4 days off roster 
  • Rotate across Day, Afternoon and Night shifts 
  • Fair and structured rotation of weekend and night shifts

Each rotation ensures coverage across mornings, afternoons, and weekends, giving staff variety and structured time off.
