Based in Geraldton, the Field Service Plant Mechanic is in charge with supporting warranty and maintenance of all Caterpillar products. The areas this would cover include the Midwest and stretches as far West including Abrolhos Islands North, Exmouth, South to Cataby, East to Leinster and other surrounding areas.


Servicing customers in marine, power generation, agriculture, road transport and mining industries with a range of equipment from the smallest Skid steer to the largest face shovel, C2.2 engines up to 3600 gas engines in boats and power generation.


Fully Equipped Field Service Vehicle, loaded with field service kits including phones, laptops and special tooling as well as full back up from the WesTrac and Caterpillar network.


You will be required to carry out product improvement plans and product support programs whilst maintaining and operating in a safe work environment.


Various roster options:


9/5 - 9 days on, 5 days off (10 hours each day plus 30 mins. break)
12/9 - 12 days on, 9 off (10 hours each day plus 30 mins. break)
2/1 - 14 days on, 7 off (10 hours each day plus 30 mins. break)
2/2 – 14 days on, 14 off (12 hours each day plus 30 mins. break)


Location:  Residential to Geraldton (not FIFO).


To be successful the following is required:

•    Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate.
•    Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment.
•    Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without continuous direct supervision.
•    Work well within a team and have a strong commitment to continuous improvement principles.
•    Strive to assist the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPI’s.
•    Previous field service experience working on Caterpillar products.
•    Minimum Light Rigid Drivers Licence required.
