About The Opportunity

Programmed’s Facility Management department are currently seeking a Painter to join our team on Rottnest Island. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team that are responsible for the timely preparation and painting of nominated customer sites to a high quality as per the directions of the Supervisor or Foreperson. A Painter also supports the team to deliver projects safely within the budgeted parameters and always endeavours to ensure that the job is completed to the customer’s satisfaction.

About You

To join our team, you will have previous painting experience, a passion to provide quality work and a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, you will have:

  • A trade qualification in painting is desirable but not essential
  • A strong commitment to and understanding of OSH & E procedures and standards
  • Have a desire to put their skills to use in a team environment
  • Demonstrate a professional approach to the workplace
  • Execute work that is of a high standard


Position Purpose
The Painter is responsible for the timely preparation and painting of nominated customer sites to a high quality as per the directions of the Supervisor or Foreperson. The Painter should support bringing projects to a safe conclusion within the budgeted parameters (hours, materials and quality) and should always endeavour to ensure that the job is completed to the customer’s satisfaction under the direction of the Supervisor or Foreperson.

Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications

  • Trade certificate in Painting
  • Driver’s licence
  • Elevated Work Platform ticket
  • Working at heights training
  • Senior First Aid Certificate

Experience & Knowledge
(Desirable if in italics)

  • Proven experience in a similar role/ environment
  • Reasonable level of literacy
  • Reasonable level of mathematical skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work unsupervised

 

Responsibilities

  • Contain and organise work sites so as to minimise disruption to the client and the public
  • Control and secure any equipment and materials assigned to them
  • Achieve a high quality result
  • Exercise forward planning in the execution of each project
  • Ensure the job site is left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of each day.


Administration

  • Ensures all documents and records are provided to the relevant administrator in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follows company and customer processes and procedures to the standards required in a timely manner
  • Ensure time sheet is submitted on time

Operational management

  • Regularly reviews operational status ensuring works are undertaken in a safe and timely manner meeting quality and budgetary requirement and client expectations
  • Follows company processes and procedures for working with contractors
  • Highlight to the Supervisor or Foreperson any issues which may impact on the job.


Customer Service

  • Provides clear and transparent communication to internal and external customers to ensure quality service is provided at all times
  • Interact with the client in a professional manner
  • Communicate any problems that the customer raises to the supervisor or Foreperson for further action


Safety, Environment and Quality

  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner
  • Ensure the health and safety of other employees
  • Completes all HSE requirements prior to any works commencing and takes action to remove or mitigate identified risks
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas requiring such equipment
  • Adhere to all (Quality, Safety, Environmental) policies and procedures
  • Identify and report all environmental and safety hazards, incidents and accidents in a timely manner for action
  • Promotes a Zero Harm culture that follows the Programmed safety beliefs and empowers all employees to be involved in HSEQ matters, pro-actively take action and protect people and the environment.
