Painter / Blaster
UGL Services, Fuels & Energy East are seeking applications from experienced Painter/Blasters for an upcoming permanent opportunity in our Project team based on Curtis Island. You will join an established projects team working on a live gas plant. This position is a residential role, and local applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
About the role
- Uphold and ensure compliance with standards for performance, behaviour and processes
- Promote and contribute to the prevention of hazards, improvements and environmental awareness in the workplace
- Identify risks and maintain awareness amongst employees and process conditions in a Major Hazardous Facility
- Responsible for working in a safe, productive and environmentally responsible manner always
About you
- Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Surface Finishing or Surface Preparation & Coating) preferred
- Construction Induction
- High Risk Work Licence – WP – preferred
- Work at Heights Certification – preferred
- Drivers Licence
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined team highly regarded (sheetmetal, painting, fireproofing)
- Perform abrasive blasting to clean and prepare surfaces for painting
- Apply protective coatings and finishes according to specifications
- Demonstrated high committment to safety
What we offer
- $56.26 - $56.58 / hr permanent (dependent on qualifications held)
- $41.55 - $41.79 / day site allowance when working on Curtis Island (dependent on employment level in the Enterprise Agreement
- Option to work Monday to Friday or 9-day fortnight with RDO every second Friday
- Regular overtime available (48hrs per week)
