We are looking for a Mechanical Reliability Specialist to deliver maintenance excellence activities in the areas of mechanical plant & systems including their sub-assemblies.

About your role
The Mechanical Reliability Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Enhancing asset reliability and capability through continuous improvement strategies, effective maintenance programs, and strong collaboration with production teams to maximise availability and efficiency.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training that ensure operational, safety, and quality compliance, while contributing to capital planning and maintenance management to support business objectives.
  • Fostering strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance mechanical reliability and minimise equipment failure risks through continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensuring high customer service by addressing mechanical safety risks and contamination sources, while collaborating with internal teams and the Group Engineering team to implement the site reliability strategy.
  • Overseeing the RCM program, enhancing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for all mechanical assets, including scheduling and condition-based maintenance within the CMMS.
  • Serving as the primary mechanical resource by providing troubleshooting support for maintenance teams and collaborating with engineering and maintenance management to assess and optimise critical spare parts and stock policies.

What will help you succeed

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and proactively strive for continuous improvement
  • Experience in managing maintenance operations utilising computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Training or experience in reliability-centred maintenance, predictive analysis technologies, FMEA and RCA.
  • Experienced in technical and hands on application of maintenance, such as programming and troubleshooting of control systems
  • Design and implementation of mechanical safety controls (e.g. zero access machine guarding) and understanding of AS4024
  • Understanding, fault finding and the troubleshooting of mechanical systems and their sub-assemblies such as pneumatics (compressed air and vacuum), hydraulics (including circuits, power packs etc), power transmission (gearboxes, chain drives, belt drives, bearing housing and shaft assemblies etc), and fluid transfer (pumps, blowers etc).
  • Preferably FMCG experience in the food and manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing mechanical, process or industrial engineering & machinery.
  • Project management qualification or demonstrated experience in delivering significant projects with effective project management methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience in the significant development of mechanical and lubrication maintenance.
  • Contractor management of service providers for mechanical maintenance and the handling of safe systems of work (Permit to Work, SWMS/JSA etc)
