Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer (Maintenance & Construction) to be based at the company’s Head Office in Rhodes, Sydney.

In this role you will provide support for multiple projects in Sydney, mainly Tanks maintenance and SMP projects. Reporting to the Site Project Manager your role will be to coordinate subcontractors, materials and equipment to ensure the delivery of the project in accordance with safe work procedures and in line with their quality plans and project timelines.

THE ROLE

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the project managers and supervisors to ensure good job planning and execution.
  • Maintain records pertaining to each job/package as required in SharePoint.
  • Liaise with client’s site personnel and attend meetings to support project.
  • Liaise with the proposal team to ensure detailed handover of projects to operations.
  • Review information from client and Head Office then distribute to the relevant personnel to execute the tasks.
  • Conduct safety observations and site safety audits
  • Ensure all drawings and supplied relied upon information are maintained, up to date and distributed to project team. 
  • Assist field staff with reading and understanding the construction drawings and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with PM, drawing and engineering office to resolve technical issues. 
  • Ensure all field staff are supplied with the correct tools and equipment to ensure a productive, compliance and safe execution of the works.
  • Promote safety throughout the site and across all activities carried out on site. 
  • Undertaken field verifications in support of design validation and sign off.
  • Ensure project has correct resources for the next 7 days tasks.
  • Preparation of daily site records
  • Preparation of manhour tracking productivity records
  • Preparation of weekly project reports for client
  • Preparation of schedule tracking reports
  • Insist that all services delivered to clients always meet the strict quality standards set by the Company.
  • Keep Project Manager updated with all site issues.
  • Detailed reporting as required by PM.
  • Participate in site technical, scheduling, systems and safety problems.

ABOUT YOU

Essential           

  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline with at least 3 years of industry experience.
  • Enthusiasm for the role and commitment to continual improvement and growth of the business
  • Innovative thinking and approach to commercial and technical aspects of project delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisational.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable          

  • Experience in construction & maintenance projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience with reputable local contractors working on SMP and or Tanks construction projects ranging in value.
