About the role
This is an Expression of Interest for a Mechanical Project Engineer.
UGL Major Projects division is expecting significant growth for 2025 in Western Australia as we support large Building Services Projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for locals and those open to FIFO and DIDO roles. As a result, we have an Expression of Interest for Mechanical project Engineer role.
- Lead the delivery of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, for the accommodation units.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely execution of all mechanical installations.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure alignment and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team, troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise.
- Manage project budgets and resource allocation for mechanical components.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, specifications, and compliance records.
About You
- 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering (and recognised by IEAust).
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer
- Have a strong understanding of Building Codes, utilities requirements and building services to be implemented in residential buildings.
- Proven Experience (from concept to completion), as design engineer with full understanding of local construction methodologies throughout all areas of residential development.
- Experience working on large accommodation villages made up of modular buildings or similar types of projects.
- Australian driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
