Location: Chandala Processing Facility - Brand Highway Muchea

Employment type: Permanent - Full Time

Roster: Mon - Fri 42 hr ave week - 9 day fortnight option

About the Role

 

Say goodbye to FIFO schedules and long commutes—at our Chandala Mineral Separation Plant, you’ll be home after every shift. Located at the end of Tonkin Highway in Muchea, our site is easily accessible for residents of Chittering, Swan, Joondalup, and Wanneroo.

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment at our Chandala Processing Plant. While experience in a similar role is highly desired, a strong alignment with our core values and a commitment to continuous learning and development are equally important. Your ability to collaborate with your team and foster positive relationships across the organization is key to your success in this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the reliability and integrity of plant and equipment by identifying, reporting, and preventing mechanical failures.
  • Take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and ensure high-quality workmanship when repairs are needed.
  • Complete all documentation accurately to ensure detailed and precise information is entered into Tronox’s Maintenance Systems.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment and assist operators with equipment preparation and isolation when required.
  • Record process information and suggest opportunities for improvement.

 

 

About You

 

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential).
  • Current C Class Drivers’ Licence (essential).
  • Full working rights in Australia – no restrictions
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Maintainer role, ideally in process plants, pumps, structural, mechanical, and piping works within the mining industry.
  • Experience in fault finding and repairs to hydraulic systems.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently when required.
  • Team-oriented with a flexible approach, willing to work additional hours when necessary.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices.
