The Mechanical Lead serves as the main technical authority and discipline lead for all mechanical engineering matters across IREN’s portfolio of data centre projects. This role provides strategic oversight, governance, and leadership for mechanical system design, air and liquid cooling infrastructure, equipment integration, and operational support across capital projects and manufacturing initiatives. The Lead ensures technical excellence, standardization, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and reliable mechanical systems performance across all regions.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- CPEng registration with Engineers Australia, or equivalent state-based registration (e.g. RPEQ in Queensland), ordemonstratedeligibility for registration
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical water conveyance and cooling systems for industrial, mission critical and hyperscale data centre environments
- Demonstrated experience acting as mechanical discipline lead or senior technical authority on complex projects
- Strongexpertisein equipment validation, protection systems, and power distribution products
- In-depth knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and standards, including the NCC/BCA, AS 1668, AS 2118, AS 1851, and AIRAH guidelines; familiarity with ASHRAE isadvantageous
- Ability to lead technical risk assessments and provide executive-level recommendations
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with data centre clients or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable
