About the Role


We are currently recruiting for Safety focused Mechanical Fitters to join our Fixed plant team on a 182 shift shutdown roster, Fifo out of Perth. This dynamic roster operates similar to a shutdown roster, featuring 182 shifts per year that vary based on demand. Key responsibilities:


 



  • Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of the processing plant

  • Ensuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor regarding downtime and trouble area

  • Removing and installation of hard skirts, soft skirts, billets, liners, idler frames, structural steel, deflectors, chutes, screens, and vibe feeders

  • Carrying out corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks - motor replacements, b- belts and pulleys, dust suppression and crusher main frame liners

  • General routine inspections of crushers, skirts, idlers, plant raw water (pumps, valves and piping)

  • Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures

  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development

  • Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed




About You


 


BHP Operations Services brings people and resources together to improve plant performance. As a member of the maintenance team, you will be recognised as a master in maintenance providing safe, high-quality work every time.


 


We are looking for individuals who have:


 



  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent

  • Fixed plant maintenance experience desired, similar industry experience also considered 

  • Experience having maintained Crushers, skirts, pulleys or gearboxes will be highly regarded

  • Experience in removal and installation of deflectors and chutes also desirable

  • Highly safety focused individual

  • Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirable

  • Ability to identify defective mechanical components or equipment
