Join our team as a Mechanical Fitter - Wastewater Operations
Are you a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact in your local community? In our City Water team, no two days are the same. You'll work across a diverse range of water and wastewater infrastructure, undertaking repairs, maintenance and fault finding on critical equipment that helps keep essential services running for thousands of residents.

Your responsibilities will include:

Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment across Redland Water's water and wastewater networks.

Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and monitoring the condition of equipment including treatment plant assets, pump stations and water storage infrastructure.

Operating and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment including cranes, trucks, utes and specialist mechanical equipment.

Supporting the development of maintenance schedules, work records, safety requirements and asset management activities.

Contributing to a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace while working collaboratively with team members and contractors.
Skills and experience:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent mechanical trade background.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, repairs and fault finding, with skills in welding, fabrication and/or machining.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose maintenance solutions.
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and autonomously in the field.
- Experience in the water, wastewater or industrial maintenance sectors is highly regarded but not essential.

Eligibility:
- You'll have trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
- You'll have a current MR Class Driver's Licence, or be willing to obtain it within your probation period.
- You'll be able to participate in the Water & Waste Operations after hours on call roster over weekends and public holidays.
- You'll hold a Construction Industry Safety Induction Card, or be willing to obtain it within your probation period.
- You'll have the ability to obtain and retain a Confined Space Entry certification.
- To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
