About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Operator to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and productivity. Your expertise will be a huge role in delivering seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on a variety of mining equipment, including track-mounted crushing and screening equipment, loaders and excavators;
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and execute timely repairs to minimise operational downtime.;
  • Assemble and install new mechanical components and machinery according to technical specifications and safety standards;
  • Modify and upgrade existing equipment to improve efficiency and performance;
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance;
  • Work closely with engineers, operators, and other maintenance staff to coordinate efforts and optimize equipment reliability;
  • Take part in daily work area setups and pre-start checks, whilst following all site safety requirements; and
  • Desirable: Utilise boilermaker and welding skills to fabricate, repair, and modify metal structures and components

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Two years plus of Mechanical Fitter experience in a Crushing and Screening environment;
  • Excavator & Loader tickets (desirable);
  • Hold a current Working at Heights and HR Driving Licence (DG, RB preferred)(desirable);
  • Experience with heavy mobile machinery;
  • Construction Safety Induction, (White Card);
  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate – Heavy Diesel or relevant;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inclusive of a drug and alcohol screen;
  • Proven experience operating front-end loaders and managing stockpiles (desirable);
  • Familiarity with track-mounted crushing and screening equipment;
  • National Police clearance, within the last three months; and
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration.
