Mechanical Fitter

We have an opportunity for an experienced, highly skilled and safety focussed Mechanical Fitter to join our LNG Maintenance Team. This role is responsible for performing planned & breakdown maintenance activities as required to maintain a safe, reliable & efficient LNG plant.
Please note, this role is local to the Gladstone Region and NO FIFO or relocation offer is available.
To be considered for the role you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter / Turner
- Hold a valid blue / white construction induction card
- High Risk Work Licence – EWP, LF, Dogging / Rigging
- Confined Space certification
- Work at Heights certification
- Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, diagrams, drawings and specifications
- High levels of attention to detail
- Excellent Communication skills
- Great time management skills
- The ability to work within a team and unsupervised

Key Accountabilities include:
- Uphold and ensure compliance with standards for performance, behaviour and processes
- Promote and contribute to the prevention of hazards, improvements and environmental awareness in the workplace
- Identify risks and maintain awareness amongst employees and process conditions in a Major Hazardous Facility
- Responsible for working in a safe, productive and environmentally responsible manner always
Job Accountabilities:
- Following all permit to work policies, procedures and work practices as required including Job Hazard Analysis and Hand Back Processes/ and input to other required safety processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report all safety incidents and be actively involved in improvement activities.
- Collecting and entering or review and retrieval of information within the clients Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Assist in updating work instructions, procedures, spare parts, and tool requirements
- Work with the Clients Operations Department to prepare, isolate and de-pressurize plant processes.
- Verify and obtain the correct materials, tools and equipment to undertake the work
- Planned Maintenance and minor and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of general process plant equipment.
- Lube oil change out, lube sampling and greasing services.
- Blinding and flange management activities
- LNG loading connect and disconnect activities – specifically cryogenic flange connections, arm articulation systems and counter weights.
- Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) removal and replacement.
- Static equipment works such as filter element or strainer change out or cleaning.
- PM and maintenance of pumps, compressors, blowers, fin fan belts, fan cowlings and drive shaft bearings.
- Support for core and critical OEM equipment under direction of OEM contractor.
- Shaft and coupling alignment, levelling and vibration analysis.
- Minor fabrication and repair of parts equipment (in line with scope of capabilities).
- Involved in shutdown (major and minor) activities as planned.
- Fill out time records as required.
- Execute all works with a high-quality standard, including required measurements & records
