Fitter (Hydraulic) Mackay

As we continue to secure projects across Queensland, Alfabs enters a growth phase where we are seeking an experienced Full-time Fitter (Hydraulics) to join our Mackay Team. This is a rare opportunity for a safety-conscious, proactive tradesperson to join the Alfabs team.
What you’ll do:
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Read & interpret technical drawings
- Conducting quality checks to ensure all work meets internal and industry standards before equipment returns to service
- Maintaining accurate documentation relating to job progress, repairs, and safety requirements
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, trades, and workshop personnel to meet deadlines and production targets
- Adhering to strict safety protocols, including JSA completion, hazard reporting, and maintaining a clean, organised workspace
What you’ll bring:
- Recognised Trade qualifications (Mechanical Fitter or similar)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, underground mining equipment experience highly regarded.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience in hydraulics and hosing (highly desirable).
- Current driver’s licence.
- A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Computer skills (highly regarded)
- Interest in career progression (highly regarded
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience working on mining equipment, including LHDs and Driftrunners
- Current Forklift Licence
- Additional tickets, licences or qualifications relevant to workshop or mining environments
