UGL heavy maintenance facility based in Bassendean Perth, are seeking applications for a Mechanical Fitter to complete overhaul activities on Diesel Electric Locomotive Engines and associated components.

 

This position will be a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday 6\:00am – 2\:30pm

UGL is open to applicants-based interstate and looking for relocation to Bassendean, WA, relocation assistance maybe on offer to successful candidates not local to the area.

 

 

 

 

About the role

  • Disassembly, inspection, qualification and assembly of GE 7FDL heavy diesel engines
  • Overhaul of major engine components e.g. Pumps, Turbochargers and Power Assemblies
  • Ensure collaborative involvement in Lean practices
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
  • Engagement and commitment to UGL OneHSE culture
  • Extensive in-house training provided

 

 

About You

  • Relevant mechanical qualification e.g. Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter.
  •  Heavy diesel engine maintenance or component overhaul experience
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Desirable to have experience with diesel electric locomotive engines
  • Strong communication skills. Both oral and written
  • A valid driver’s license
