Position: Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment

Location: Perth, Western Australia (with the occasional adventure to site!)

Us:

We are Rotation Solutions, part of the Rotation Group, a leading independent gas turbine enhancement business. We take Responsibility, we Win as a team and we Aim for Excellence. We’re a fast-growing WA-based team of engineers, technicians and unapologetic turbomachinery nerds delivering comprehensive engineering and field services to some of the biggest names in the Oil & Gas, Energy, and Utilities sectors. Our team works with light industrial and aeroderivative gas turbines, including models from manufacturers such as Solar Turbines, General Electric (GE), and Siemens.

We take our work seriously…but maybe occasionally, not ourselves! To give you an insight to what we are like away from our desks… we use ELO-ranking to rate table tennis performance, trend the weight of our Burritos in our weekly team Burrito lunches, get competitive at the go-kart track, create the best F1 fantasy teams and socialise at the local climbing centre.

If you’re tired of being a bum on a seat, fancy a piece of fun workplace culture and see yourself making a real difference in a growing gas turbine business, Rotation Solutions may be the perfect fit.

You:

A proactive and motivated Mechanical Engineer with rotating equipment experience. You enjoy an office-based role but not opposed to the occasional stint to shine in hi viz orange on project sites across Australia. You will support project planning and preparation for engineering, field service and maintenance projects. This may include compiling technical reports and analysing data, developing solutions to technical challenges and participating in research and development initiatives to continually improve our capabilities and exceed client expectations.

Our humble abode may be in Belmont, but what’s even more exciting about us is that we’re part of a global team, with Gas Turbine Overhaul and Repair facilities in Canada and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a good human who cares, connects and commits to everything you do.
  • Providing mechanical engineering support for multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Interpret and review engineering drawings, manuals, and OEM specifications like they’re your favourite bedtime reading.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of office-based and field engineering activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, scopes of work, procedures, and contract documentation.
  • Analyse operational data and equipment condition reports to develop insights, identify trends and determine corrective actions for issues found. You’re a gun like that.
  • Support project lifecycle from concept to completion with clear documentation and communication.
  • Support turbine servicing and exchange work in the field (if that’s up your alley).
  • Be a team player and strive to achieve company goals.

What We Offer:

  • Diversity and variety of projects, locations and equipment types.
  • Competitive salary and performance-driven incentive bonus.
  • Flexible work arrangements with both office and site-based roles.
  • A balanced and supportive company culture.
  • Opportunities for career growth in a rapidly expanding business.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ with rotating equipment.
  • Technical Expertise: Resourceful, and not afraid to ask “why” or “why not?”. Propelled when you get to be across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Pride yourself on clear, professional comms with people in person, via email or by phone.
  • Bonus points: Light industrial and aeroderivative gas turbines experience is advantageous. Familiar with industry standards and safety practices, and proficiency in 3D CAD applications (e.g. Solidworks).
  • Residency: You must already have valid working rights in Australia.
