The Opportunity


The Mechanical Engineer/Naval Architect provides technical assistance for the delivery of contract engineering support services. The role applies engineering expertise to ensure asset capability and integrity is maintained in accordance with business expectations. The role assists in compliance with relevant standards and provides inputs to ensure technical and safety risks are effectively managed and communicated.

  • Development of Engineering Change Proposals and designs

  • Development of Technical Deviations

  • Timely execution of engineering investigations.

  • Technical risk analysis and awareness

  • Timely engineering review of maintenance repair plans.

  • Development technical instructions.

  • Development of Requests for Problem Resolution.

  • To promote and engage a HSEQ culture across all activities that supports the importance of effective HSEQ compliance.

  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives through corrective actions arising from incidents or non-conformances.


You’ll need


Essential



  • Formal degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, recognised by Engineers Australia as being suitable for registration in the Professional Engineer (Member) category (or working towards).

  • Australian Citizen, if the role requires the Department of Defence and/or the Department of Home Affairs Security Clearances.

  • Well-developed communication skills.

  • 3 Years’ experience in a sustainment engineering role.

  • Knowledge of asset management standards, systems, and processes.

  • Knowledge of configuration management systems and processes.

  • Capable of achieving Level 4 Authorised Engineering Authority delegation under the Navy Technical Regulatory System or equivalent.

  • Understanding of technical risk management and safety systems.

  • Complex problem-solving skills.

  • Competency in Microsoft office and standard engineering software.

  • White Card.
