We are working with a respected HVAC and mechanical services specialist delivering projects, maintenance, and commissioning solutions across commercial and industrial environments. Due to continued growth, an opportunity is available for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys a hands-on, site-focused role with strong exposure to project delivery and commissioning.
The Opportunity This role is perfect for an engineer who prefers being on-site and involved in real project delivery, rather than sitting behind a desk doing detailed design. You’ll play a key role across commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance support, and project coordination, ensuring HVAC systems are delivered and operating to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery

  • Support delivery of mechanical services projects from installation through to completion
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and site teams
  • Monitor progress and ensure works are delivered on schedule
  • Assist with procurement and equipment coordination
  • Attend site and project meetings, providing technical input
Commissioning & Technical Support
  • Commission and verify performance of HVAC systems
  • Conduct testing, inspections, and system checks
  • Troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions
  • Prepare commissioning documentation and reports
  • Support system handovers and client demonstrations
Service & Maintenance Support
  • Provide technical support to field technicians
  • Assist with diagnosing system and equipment issues
  • Support preventative maintenance and asset management
  • Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements
  • Ensure systems operate to manufacturer and client expectations
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with clients and contractors
  • Provide clear, practical technical advice
  • Communicate project updates and support site coordination
  • Identify opportunities for additional works or service improvements
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to WHS standards and site safety protocols
  • Conduct inspections and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality processes
About You
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in HVAC, building services, or facilities environments
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, ventilation, and mechanical systems
  • Experience in commissioning, operations, maintenance, or project delivery
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Current driver’s licence
Desirable Experience
  • Background working with HVAC contractors
  • Exposure to BMS and control systems
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities
  • Engineers Australia membership (or working towards)
  • Professional accreditation (or working towards)
