We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer – HME Mobile Plant to join our client’s team to support their operations whilst being based in their head office in Yatala.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-performing maintenance environment focused on improving fleet reliability, maximising equipment availability, and supporting safe and efficient mining operations.

Working a Monday to Friday roster, this position plays a key role in monitoring equipment performance, coordinating maintenance activities, and supporting reliability improvements across a large mobile fleet.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with the Plant Manager, planners, and site teams to support equipment performance, investigate failures, and improve fleet reliability outcomes across the projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and reporting on equipment availability, uptime, and maintenance performance
  • Investigating equipment failures and quality issues to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting maintenance planning and breakdown analysis in collaboration with planners and maintenance managers
  • Conducting and reviewing oil sample analysis
  • Preparing reports on maintenance KPIs and fleet performance
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment reliability
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar reliability, maintenance, or engineering role
  • Experience working with mobile plant mining equipment – CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi
  • Exposure to maintenance planning, reliability reporting, and breakdown analysis
  • Experience reviewing oil samples and supporting condition monitoring
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams
