Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer – Building Services to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane.

As the successful candidate, you will:

 

  • Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Develop appropriate mechanical HVAC, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection design schemes
  • Prepare and interpret engineering calculations including heat load calculations, and hydraulic modeling/calculations, and perform system analyses
  • Prepare equipment sizing while ensuring that all analyses satisfy user and system requirements
  • Prepare technical specifications and design criteria based on statutory requirements, industry standards and client/project requirements
  • Provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings
  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews.

 

You will bring to the role:

 

  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of project engineering/design experience in buildings HVAC, Plumbing and Drainage, and Fire Protection 
  • Working knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, ASHRAE), regulations and codes (NCC) pertinent to the infrastructure mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience in client engagement as a mechanical engineer in tunnel, and rail and transit projects
  • Good communication, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and supervise junior team members as required
  • Registration as a professional engineer preferred.
