This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP’s Mining team. Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you’ll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.

What you’ll do:

• Contribute to mechanical design and engineering across a range of mining studies and project phases (concept, PFS, FS, detailed design, and execution support)
• Develop and review engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
• Work closely with senior engineers, designers, and multidiscipline teams to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions
• Assist in preparing reports, proposals, and cost estimates
• Support site-based activities such as inspections, data collection, and verification (as required)
• Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication and reliable delivery

About You

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Approximately 3–7 years' experience in mining, consultancy or similar environments
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems typical to mining operations (e.g., materials handling, fixed plant, pumping systems, crushers, conveyors)
• Proficiency with engineering design tools and familiarity with Australian Standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
• A commitment to safe design principles and sustainable engineering
