Mechanical & Electrical Tradespersons (Locomotive Maintainers)

Location: Jilalan (Sarina)

About the role:

Aurizon is currently looking for qualified Mechanical & Electrical Tradespersons (Locomotive Maintainers) to join our Jilalan maintenance depot. Working on Locomotives within a well organised and thriving workshop this is a great opportunity to be part of a stable organisation that values both its people and safety alike. There are a variety shifts which include 8,10 and 12 hr shifts, lifestyle roster or days on/days off options.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing complex troubleshooting, fault rectification duties, repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock.


• Supervising, mentoring, and assisting the development of apprentices and Locomotive Maintainers.


• Utilising and inputting accurate data into information and Maintenance Management Systems.


• Assisting with the implementation and development of quality improvement in the area to enhance customer service.

About you:

• Must hold a Mechanical Trade or Electrical Trade Certificate.


• A strong commitment to safety and the “I Know Safe, I choose Safe” principal.


• Heavy industry maintenance background highly regarded.


• High level skill in trouble shooting, fault rectification & preventative maintenance of rollingstock.


• Adequate level of skill in interpreting technical instructions and drawings


• Sound computer literacy.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
